SCHOOL BREAKFAST

Studies have shown that students who eat breakfast at school perform better at school (higher grades and test scores) and exhibit better behavior in the classroom. All Thomas County Schools allow students to eat breakfast in the classroom. TCMS, TCCHS, Bishop Hall, and Renaissance Center also offer Second Chance Breakfast which allows students to get a first or second breakfast after the start if the school day (usually after 1st period). Students do better when they start the day right! Encourage your student to eat breakfast at school. For more information on the benefits of school breakfast, click here

Special Dietary Needs

We want to make sure your student can safely eat meals at school.

If you believe your student requires a special diet based on a disability, food allergy or other medical condition, you must fill out a "Statement to Request Accommodations for Special Dietary Needs" form (links below.)

This form must be used when requesting any dietary accommodations. The form contains 2 parts. Part 1:  To be completed by Parent/Guardian. Part 2:  Dietary Restrictions section. To be completed by a Medical Doctor.

This form only has to be submitted ONE time during your student's school enrollment.  This form will remain on file and meal accommodations will remain in effect until the student leaves the Thomas County School System or we receive written notice of a change. If for some reason there is a change in your student's medical needs, we will need a statement from a medical professional formally changing or discontinuing the  previously ordered dietary accommodations. Once the form has been completed, please return it to the school nurse at your student's school, who will then notify the school nutrition director and cafeteria manger of the dietary request.
